NWMRT were contacted by PSNI about a male casualty with a suspected heart attack at the bottom of the board walk at Cuilcagh mountain in County Fermanagh and made their way to the location.
NI Ambulance were already at the scene but the terrain made it difficult for them to get their vehicle there. HM Coastguard had already been informed of situation and Heli R 199 had been tasked and was on route.
The casualty’s friends started CPR until Ambulance crew arrived who then took over and continued CPR for 45 mins, before the casualty was pronounced deceased.

NWMRT then helped with the extraction off the mountain and we would like to offer our condolences and sympathy to the family and friends of the deceased.
